| Hello Friends, Howdy to you all and trust you're gearing up for spring and summer and festival season! We've been doing well, busy playing music in one form or another, and tending to family and friends. Brad is busy working on the
house he and Linda bought in Bloomington, and giving fiddle lessons. Anyone
interested in taking fiddle lessons can contact him through Alice just got back from Folk Alliance where she hosted an old-time jam session in the Local 1000 suite on Saturday night. It was huge fun with lots of good music including Steve Eulberg, Deborah Van Kleef, Trevor and Travis Stuart, Sammy Lind, Caleb Klauder of Foghorn, Justin Robinson of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, and many others who came and went and came over the course of several hours. If there are musicians out there who just might want to look into the possibility of getting a pension, health insurance, and very good instrument insurance—as well as helping to strengthen the music community, check out Local 1000, the musicians union set up just for traveling musicians like ourselves. Check out their website at: www.local1000.com/ . Tom has had a hard month or two with some severe back problems. He is on the mend at this time, but it is slow going and I'm sure he'd welcome hearing from friends. He is back to teaching a little. Both Tom and Brad are wonderful teachers, and if you're in the Los Angeles area and want to take lessons from Tom, you can get in touch with him via email: masaw48@earthlink.net. Alice's new project with Gail Gillespie and Sharon Sandomirsky, The Road to Agate Hill features some of the fiddle tunes mentioned in Lee's book On Agate Hill as well as a ballad for which Lee wrote the words and Alice the music. The CD is out and available on Alice's website store: www.alicegerrard.com. Alice will be doing several gigs in the fall with the Harmony Sisters (Jeanie McLerie, Irene Herrmann and Alice). This is a rare occurrence so watch for those dates. We'll keep adding news to this page as we have news to add. We hope you'll check out our recordings and our websites to see where we're playing. We appreciate all of you and look forward to seeing you at future gigs. For any information about booking Tom, Brad & Alice, or to contact us please see the addresses below. And don't forget to check out the Old-Time Herald magazine: www.oldtimeherald.org. Tom, Brad & Alice
